Excellent, if tough, event yesterday; thank you. Alastair Blowers |
Hi there - I'm looking to join a club and was really struck by how friendly the welcome was at yesterday's May Flyer. Mark. |
Thank you for organising once again the splendid May Flyer sportive. I enjoyed it a lot and the route is magnificent. Full marks too for the road markings – there was never a moment’s uncertainty about the route, the long one anyway. Jonathan |
Wanted to thank you for a fabulous event this weekend! Everything was brilliantly organised and the route was fantastic! Christina |
Thanks for organising a great event. The food at the end was particularly good. Martin Banfield |
This was an excellent event. The food stops and the marshalling were out of this world. Mark Patterson |
Thanks for an awesome sportive. Sarah Tupman |
May I start by saying what a great event SWRC put on yesterday. The weather also behaved itself and the feed station and post ride lunch was the best ever. Ray Cockle |
Really enjoyed the ride yesterday - only my second ever Sportive, so still getting to grips with it all. Paul Sidwell |
Can I just start by saying how much I really enjoy this event, this is the 5th time of doing it, and my husband Ray and I (who emailed you yesterday) missed last year. We think the new venue is really good as it is so much more spacious. The short course itself is lovely, I think we might be tempted to do the long one next year for a change as a friend we met at the hall afterwards said it is a lovely route too. I loved the course marking at the junction of the B2130 where you do a right and another quick right, which marking on the road before the junction was really clear and I can’t remember seeing that before but know to watch out for that junction. I too will add my thanks for the whole organisation, the marshals out on the course at the strategic points and last but not least the fantastic feed station, which I would have loved to have spent more time at but was conscious of wanting to try and get in before 4:07, however timing wasn’t an issue once back at the hall where I was able to indulge in sandwiches, cake and a much needed cup of tea. Thanks to all for the fantastic catering. Finally I think the finishing gift of the socks was great, though Ray gets the benefit of 2 pairs as they are a bit big for my size 5s. It was only when I got home and opened the pack that I appreciated the design and quality of the socks. Sue Cockle |
We thoroughly enjoyed the event - cakes were amazing (too moreish!!) & the friendly support afforded by the hosts capped off a pleasurable (if slightly leg-busting) adventure. Martin Farrelly |
I really enjoyed the event. Every aspect was first class. All the marshals were fantastic, the food was excellent. I thought the French Tart cake was really good, and it was such a nice touch for them to offer a free coffee at their café in Surbiton. Steve Brett |
Just to say what a thoroughly enjoyable event this year’s May Flyer was despite the wind. Great organisation and the signage on the road was perfect…even the reminder to “save a bit for Coombe” which was a very good tip. Really friendly feed stations and very sell stocked. Patrick Lacey |
Brilliant event, well run. Glad you amended times thought I was getting old. Beat last years’ time just, despite strong winds. Well done 3rd time I’ve ridden it. Keith Workman |
A brilliant sportive with a fantastic route off the 'beaten track'. Some challenging climbs for my first sportive and circa 100 mile ride for over 15 years. A well organised event with great feed stations and hospitality throughout (that one at circa 80 miles was a welcome sight)! The weather just about held and I will be back next year to concur a sub 6 hour ride (preferably without the wind and just a little more sun ... Please). Thank you to all at SWRC. Matt Graves |
